Kimbi Tiez, also known as Kimbi the Goddess, is a Holistic Sound + Somatic Artist, singer, songwriter and spoken word artist who creates experiences meant to be felt as much as heard.
Her work moves freely through song, poetry and performance, drawing from Hip-Hop, Soul, Blues, Classical and Jazz influences without asking permission to fit neatly into one genre. A native South Carolinian molded and fashioned in New York City, Kimbi grew up surrounded by strong women and music, from her grandmother at the church piano to her mother, a former lead singer of the 1970s funk-infused band II Freedom II. Music is not just something she found. It is part of her DNA.
Kimbi honed her voice on poetry stages, college campuses, festivals and community spaces throughout the Southeast and beyond. Across 300+ hosted and performed events, national poetry stages, songwriting recognition and decades of embodied practice, she has built an artistry where voice, story, movement and sound meet. The result is unmistakably Kimbi: soulful, honest, multidimensional and never afraid to go beneath the surface.
